“WHERE LEADERS ARE MADE” is the Toastmasters International motto. Toastmasters offers many opportunities to become a stronger leader.
Leadership means becoming a reference point for a group through vision, engagement and the ability to guide others. These skills matter in professional and personal life.
Toastmasters helps you explore and practise different leadership styles. Pathways offers opportunities to initiate or participate in group projects where you lead and motivate a team, such as organising an event, creating a blog or producing a podcast.
You can also take on organisational responsibilities, for example by joining your club’s Executive Committee. Committee members work together to support the club and its members. You take responsibility for an area such as administration or public relations and may build a team to help achieve club goals.
Even at a typical Toastmasters meeting, roles such as Toastmaster of the Day — the meeting host — provide practical leadership experience.
