16 April is World Voice Day. Congratulations to professionals for whom the voice is fundamental — and to our fellow Toastmasters.
The Italian article traces the initiative to Brazil in 1999, through the joint efforts of ear, nose and throat specialists, phoniatricians and other voice professionals. It describes its international growth and recognition by the International Federation of Otorhinolaryngological Societies in 2002.
The annual theme explores different aspects of vocal health, prevention, early diagnosis and the role of voice in professional life and the arts. Events, workshops and seminars raise public awareness. In the year covered by this article, the University of Turin offered two free seminars.
